We’re not here to call anyone out—but if your cleaning crew could gently suggest a few things… well, we’ve got a little list. At Mops and Muscles, we love making homes sparkle, but some habits and oversights can make our job harder (or just a bit more awkward).

Whether you're a first-time client or a longtime regular, here are a few friendly tips to help us help you get the absolute best clean possible.

1. We Can’t Clean What We Can’t See

Clutter is the number one thing that slows down a great cleaning. We’re talking piles of papers, overflowing countertops, and playroom chaos. You don’t need to deep clean before we arrive (that’s our job!), but a quick tidy-up makes a huge difference.

2. Please Let Us Know What You Want

We want to meet your expectations—every single time. If you have certain priorities (like focusing more on the kitchen or skipping a guest room), just tell us! We’d rather know what matters most than guess.

3. Yes, We Bring Supplies (But Let Us Know If You Have Preferences)

At Mops and Muscles, we bring our own trusted tools and products, but if you’d prefer we use something specific—maybe a certain floor cleaner or a fragrance-free spray—just let us know ahead of time. We’re happy to tailor our cleaning to your needs.

4. Closed Doors Usually Mean “Skip It”

If a door is shut when we arrive, we assume it’s off-limits. If you want a room cleaned, make sure the door is open. And if you have pets or anything we should be aware of behind those doors, let us know in advance!

5. We're Pros, But We're Also People

We love what we do—but we’re human. A kind word, a “thank you,” or even just a smile goes a long way. We treat every home with care, and it feels great when that effort is appreciated.

6. Pet Surprises Aren’t Our Favorite

We’re huge animal lovers (no, really!), but please pick up after your pets before we arrive. That includes accidents, litter boxes, and chew toy explosions. We’ll handle fur and paw prints—no problem!

7. If You’re Home, That’s Totally Fine

We know not everyone can leave during a cleaning appointment. You’re welcome to hang out while we work—just give us space to move through each room. If you're working from home, a heads-up helps us plan our route around your calls or Zooms.

8. Payment Made Easy = Happiness All Around

If you pay electronically, try to send it on cleaning day if possible. It helps us keep everything running smoothly. And if you're leaving cash or a check, placing it in an envelope on the counter is perfect.

9. Feedback Is Everything

If something’s not quite right, we want to hear about it. Truly. Letting us know gives us the chance to fix it or improve next time. Our goal is always to leave you 100% happy with your cleaning.

10. We Love When You Trust Us

When you give us the space to do what we do best—without hovering or micromanaging—it means the world. You’ve hired pros, and we’ve got your back.

Your Clean Home, Your Way

At the end of the day, we want you to love walking into your home after a visit from Mops and Muscles. We’re here to make your life easier, your home fresher, and your to-do list a little lighter.

So thank you—for the trust, the kindness, and the chance to do what we love.
